Question 1

What do I need to use Rockola?

Accepted Answer

A screen with a web browser (Smart TV, computer, tablet or touchscreen), an internet connection and your Rockola.app account. When you sign up you get your venue's address and your QR code. Your guests only need their phone.

Question 2

Do I need to buy a jukebox machine?

Accepted Answer

No. Rockola.app runs in the browser of the screen you already have. There is no machine, no proprietary hardware and no software to install.

Question 3

Do my guests need to install an app?

Accepted Answer

No. Rockola.app runs in the phone browser. Guests scan your venue's QR code and are requesting songs seconds later. Works on iPhone and Android — any phone with a camera.

Question 4

Does it work with a Smart TV?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with any Smart TV that has a web browser, and also with Android TV, Google TV and Fire TV. Open your jukebox address in the TV browser and it's running — no extra devices.

Question 5

Can I use karaoke?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The catalog includes karaoke tracks with lyrics on screen, and you can give every table its own QR code so singers request in turns. Karaoke is included from the Professional plan up, and there is no equipment to rent.

Question 6

How do credits work?

Accepted Answer

You generate credit codes from your dashboard and hand them out however you like: on the menu, on the receipt or printed in batches. Guests redeem the code on their phone, and 1 credit adds 1 song to the queue. Rather not charge? Turn on Free Mode and everyone requests without credits.

Question 7

What is Priority Skip?

Accepted Answer

It lets a guest move a song up: they use more credits and their song plays next. The cost grows with the number of songs waiting. As the admin, you can still skip, delete or reorder any song.

Question 8

Can I control which songs play in my venue?

Accepted Answer

Yes. From your dashboard you can skip songs, remove them from the queue, reorder them and add songs yourself without credits. You can also define which music is allowed, block artists or songs, and turn on autoplay for when the queue runs empty.

Question 9

Can I customize my screen?

Accepted Answer

Yes. From the dashboard you upload your logo, pick the main color, choose whether the QR code and upcoming songs are shown, and set on-screen messages (great for promotions like '2-for-1 beers until 10pm').

Question 10

Can I try Rockola for free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in two ways. You can try the demo right on this page without signing up. And once you create your account you use the full product: the limited version gives you unlimited songs for 7 days, counted from the first song requested. To unlock Rockola.app with no limits you subscribe to a plan: nothing is charged when you subscribe, you get 30 days before your first charge and, if you cancel within those 30 days, no charge is made.

Question 11

Which devices are compatible?

Accepted Answer

For the screen: Smart TV, Android TV, Google TV, Fire TV, Windows computers, monitors, touchscreens, tablets and any modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari). For your guests: any phone with a camera, iPhone or Android.

Question 12

Is there a minimum contract? Can I cancel?

Accepted Answer

No contracts and no lock-in. Every plan is month to month and you can cancel any time from your subscription dashboard, with no penalties.

Question 13

Which currency am I charged in?

Accepted Answer

You are charged in the currency you pick in the pricing section before creating your account. The currency is fixed on your subscription and doesn't change on its own if you travel or move; if your country's currency isn't available yet, you are billed in US dollars (USD), which any international card accepts.
